Put your hands up for Detroit

"Flight attendants are demanding" once told me Sandrine, a colleague who was driving me home after my Boston flight. At the time I'd been flying for only 2 weeks and didn't know any better so I took her word for it. Today, after 2 months in the job, I know what she meant.

It stroke me when I received my August schedule on which I saw I was going twice to Toronto and I felt disappointed about it. Can you believe it?! I'm being sent twice to Toronto in the same month and I dare complain! (I even tried to switch the second flight with a Chicago one, in vain). How spoiled did I become!?

Fortunately, to balance my "bad luck", I had the pleasure to see the 3 letters DTW printed in my schedule too. This meant I was going back to Michigan 6 years after I left it.

Thanks to Vicky and Floyd I managed to make the most out of the little 24 hours I had in the Great Lakes State. Among other things I ate breakfast at Nick's in downtown Durand and ordered a ham and cheese omelette just like I used too after soccer practice. I also many of the people I missed all this time.

After these 24 hours , it's clearer than ever in my mind that I must not wait another 6 years to go back to Durand.
